One of the largest annexations Huntsville has seen this year is now approved.

On Thursday night, the Huntsville City Council approved the annexation of 686 acres of the Stevens Property, which is right off Highway 72 near Gurley.

The city says the plan is to solely bring industrial and commercial businesses to that area.

Huntsville City Schools releases useless statement on ‘incident’ at Whitesburg Middle School basketball game

In a statement, Huntsville City Schools said:

Huntsville City Schools is aware of an incident that occurred in the parking lot at Cullman Middle following a basketball game involving Whitesburg Middle School. The situation is currently under review, and it is a matter for law enforcement.

...Whitesburg Middle made the decision not to complete the game and to forfeit play.
