Several agencies responded to an early morning house fire on Ryland Pike Sunday.
The Huntsville Police Department, HEMSI and Huntsville Fire & Rescue all responded to the scene. The call came in around 4: 30 a.m.

An HPD spokesperson said officers responded to a shooting-in-progress call at an apartment complex in the area of Martin Road and Zierdt Road. The department said, as of 7:46 p.m., there is an active death investigation as the result of the shooting at 240 Martin Road.
HPD said one person has been detained.
